Privacy
How this website counts visits, and what it never collects.
We only see totals, such as how many people visited the activities page this month. Nothing is collected unless you agree.
Nothing is collected unless you agree
On your first visit, a bar at the bottom of the page asks whether you accept visit statistics. Google Analytics only loads if you choose Accept. If you choose Decline, or don’t choose, nothing is sent and the website works exactly the same.
What is collected if you accept
- The pages you view, and when
- The website or link that brought you here
- Your type of device, browser, operating system, screen size and language
- Your approximate location (country and city), which Google works out from your connection
- A random number saved in a cookie on your device, so that a return visit counts as the same visitor. It contains no name or personal details, and it expires after 6 months.
What is never collected
- Your name, email address, phone number, or anything you type
- Your IP address: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses
- Any link between your visit and who you are: we only see totals and charts
- Advertising data: ad features, personalised ads and Google signals are turned off, and we never sell or share the data
Who sees the data and for how long
Only the volunteers who maintain this website can see the statistics. Google Analytics is run by Google, which processes the data on its servers, possibly outside Syria; see Google’s privacy policy. The detailed data is deleted automatically after 2 months; only the totals remain.
Other services this website uses
These don’t set cookies and aren’t used to track you, but your browser connects to them to show parts of the website:
- Google Fonts, for the website’s fonts
- GitHub, to show the date of the last website update
- beforeafter.mapki.com, only when you open a before-and-after map comparison on the goals page
Links to YouTube, Google Forms, Telegram and other websites take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
Change your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Your choice is saved only in your own browser.
Visit statistics are not active on this copy of the website.
